Ray Sacks

Ray is a chartered chemical engineer with 40 years’ experience in the industrial gases industry, mainly in the field of cryogenics. He has worked extensively in research and development, but also with the design, manufacture and commissioning of innovative products in the UK and overseas; these have included heat exchange systems and advanced controls. His doctoral research at Imperial College, London, covered critical areas of heat transfer for the Compressed Air Energy Storage cycle. When time permits, he works with school and college students as a STEMnet ambassador, mentor and careers adviser.

Ray’s specialities: mathematical model development, cycle design, research and development including apparatus design  and appraisal.
